Botanical name: Rhynchospora wightiana    Family: Cyperaceae (Sedge family)
Synonyms: Haplostylis wightianus, Rhynchospora discolor

Two-Color Beak-Sedge is a tufted annual herb, with hairless stem 15-40 cm tall. Leaves are narrow, linear, up to 12 cm long. Leaf margins are fringed with hair. Flowers are reddish-brown heads with many clustered spikelets. There are 3-6 leaf-like bracts just below the flower-heads. Nuts are brown. Two-Color Beak-Sedge is found in wet, sandy areas. Flowering: August-October.
